Maria Drania

  • She has studied Interior design in Athens (Vakalo School of Art and Design) and Industrial design in Milan (Scuola Politecnica di Design) and has worked in both cities.
  • She started Yoga in 1989 at the Saytananda Yoga Centre where she met her spiritual teacher Swami Sivamurti Saraswati. Since then she has incorporated Yoga into her daily life.
  • In 1990 she completed the teachers training course at the Satyanandashram in Peania -Athens.
  • From 1991 she teaches Satyananda Yoga at the Satyananda Yoga Centre in Athens (seva) and other places i.e. fitness clubs.
  • She is an active member of the non-profit Yoga organization, Satyanandashram Hellas and participates in the evaluation process of the Yoga teachers training courses and in various activities concerning Yoga.
  • She travels to India very often, remains updated on current events and nourishes her ties with the traditions of Satyananda Yoga by residing in the ashrams of her spiritual masters, Paramahamsa Satyananda Saraswati and Paramahamsa Niranjanananda Saraswati.
  • Together with her husband Dimitris Kolyvas (Sannyasin Vedamurti) opened the Sitaram Yoga Centre in 2003, where Yoga is taught systematically according to the principles and method of Satyananda Yoga.

  • Hold an N.T.U.A. (National Technical University of Athens - E.M.Π) diploma in Mechanical / Naval Archtecture and Engineering, with postgraduate studies and trainings in Germany and Norway.He has been Project Manager of extensive construction ship and naval programs within Greece and abroad.
  • He started Yoga in 1990, at the Satyananda Yoga Centre in Athens, where he met his spiritual teacher, Swami Sivamurti Saraswati.
  • In 1993, he completed the teachers training course in Yoga at Satyanandashram Hellas in Peania- Athens.
  • Since 1994 he teaches traditional Satyananda Yoga at the Satyananda Centre in Athens (seva) .
  • He also teaches Yoga at the workplaces with the aim of enhancing motivation, good health and productivity which contribute to a positive and effective work environment.
  • He organizes "Stress Management" courses aiming at the management of "eustress" and "distress" through the teachings and methods of Yoga.
  • He is an active member of the non-profit Yoga organization Satyanandashram Hellas and participates in the evaluation process of the Yoga teachers training courses as well as in many other activities concerning Yoga.
  • He travels to India at least once a year, keeping contact with the issues and strengthening his ties with the traditions of Satyananda Yoga, spending time in the ashram of his spiritual masters, Paramahamsa Satyananda Saraswati and Pramahamsa Niranjanananda Saraswati.
  • He is affinity and devotion to yoga have become an inseparable part of his daily, professional and personal life.
  • Together with his wife, Maria Drania (Sannyasi Durga Shakti) , opened the Sitaram Yoga Centre in 2003, where Yoga is taught systematically, according to the principles and methods of Satyananda Yoga.
